If you’re like me, you were probably blown away by the appearance of Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent. Her remarkable voice was in sharp contrast to her outward appearance. And it is was obvious that the judges and audience had “pre-judged” her from the moment she walked out.
Here at counteract we’re dedicated to a wide-open discussion that applies to all individuals, whether in appearance, beliefs, age or ability. Discrimination in any form must be addressed.
Can you imagine what Ms. Boyle and all of us would have been deprived of if a decision had been made to exclude her participation based on appearance alone?
Whether you’re short or tall, skinny or fat, have beautiful eyes or eye wrinkles, black hair or gray hair … there is no place for discrimination based on appearance.
I hope Susan Boyle offered a lesson we can call draw upon.
